Monday, July 18, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford

With many regulars still away it is still a very quiet time here and there was only one division out today and three 35 pointers fighting for the top podium position.  A back nine count back saw Steve Godfrey beat Jerry Sweetnam and Paul Butler who finished in second and third repectively.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Paul Butler and Steve Godfrey, and (Div 2) Tom Novak.

There were no ‘2’s in either division so a double rollover to Burapha on Wednesday.

Wednesday, July 20, Burapha – Stableford

On our last visit here the A course was under renovation so we have booked the A and B nines today, probably our favourite choice out of the four courses.  It was very busy here but we still teed off 10 minutes ahead of schedule on the A nine and there was no congestion.

Chris Slota recorded the best score of the day, winning division 2 with 38 points.  Kai Anda came in second four points behind Kai on 34 and Bob Poole was third with 31.

It was an equal cut of 9-16 and 17+ and Keith Wooley, playing off 15, won division 1 with 31 points ahead of Tom Yahnke in second on 30 and Paul Butler third with 29.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Steve Godfrey (2), Keith Wooley and Tom Yahnke, and (Div 2) Tom Novak and Bob Poole.

Steve Harris birdied B3 in division 2 and there was another rollover in division 1 to the Emerald next Monday.

Friday, July 22, Eastern Star – Stableford

There was heavy rain here the day before but no problems according to the caddies and we teed off in fine weather.  The first group took out the ‘pick, clean and place’ board but it was not needed throughout the round.  The course here is still improving from week to week.

An almost identical cut to Wednesday but the scores were slightly lower, with Don Head winning division 2 with 35 points, Darryl Blair coming second one point behind and Curtis Hessler in third with 29.  Nobody likes to see this, but Colin Aspinall beat Bill Bertram 19/15 on a back-nine count back in division 1 after they both came in with 33 points each and Steve Godfrey was third with 31.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Mikael Andersson and Bill Bertram, and (Div 2) Steve Harris, Don Head and Curtis Hessler.

Not one two in either division today so three rollovers in division 1 and two in division 2 to the following Friday.
