Sunday, August 6, Silky Oak – Stableford

We were back at Silky Oak again today as Green Valley is still under renovation.  Actually a lot of us are getting to like this course and it is in very good condition, especially the fairways.

Russell Gilroy continued his incredible run of golf and recorded his sixth win out of seven consecutive games of golf which must be a record.  Russell had an excellent 41 points today and was a clear six points ahead of the pack.  Paula Kopatz rejoined us today after a break took second place with 35 points on a count back over Donal McGuigan.

Shaun Tracy had the only ‘2’ of the day.

Thursday, August 10, Burapha – Stableford

Today we played the more difficult C and D courses at Burapha.  The course is in beautiful condition but on these nines the rough is very long and sometimes a bit unfair, especially on the holes where it comes across the fairways.

The scoring wasn’t great and. Russell Gilroy didn’t manage to keep up the high standard he has set for himself, but again he came in the prizes, this time in third place with 29 points.  Ken Hole took second place with 32 points as he lost out on the count back on the last six holes to John Fenwick who was the winner today.

Stuart Brown recorded the only ‘2’ of the round.
