The final round of the heavily contested Thailand 600 Supersport National Motorcycle professional championship came to the very new Chang International circuit at Buriram earlier this month.

Local pro rider from Pattaya, Ben Fortt, who has been riding The MV Agusta F3 throughout the season, rode on this track for the first time and needed a top 3 finish to hold on to the runners-up spot in the championship.

Ben put himself on the front row in P2 on the qualifying stages to give himself the best chances in the 12 lap race, each lap being over 4.5km long.  Once the flag dropped, Ben sat in 2nd place chasing the championship leader who was riding a factory supported Yamaha R6.  Ben tried everything to overtake him but the leader proved too strong and Ben settled for 2nd place to take the overall championship runner’s-up spot.

The Devil MV Agusta Racing team members were delighted with the great season and consistent podiums Ben had built up throughout the year to put the European made MV Agusta in this prestigious position.

Ben remarked after the race, “I have enjoyed the whole season riding this great bike and I hope to carry on next season and go one better and win the title.”  Regarding the Chang circuit he remarked, “We are so lucky to have such a superb circuit built here in Thailand, which is equal if not better than most international tracks around the world.  Next March, this circuit will be hosting a round of the world superbikes and I will be working hard with MV Agusta to try to secure a wild card entry for this race.  I would like to thank MV Agusta Devil Evoluition, CEA Projects and all others who supported me throughout the 2014 season.”
