PSC golf from The Golf Club Sports Bar

Monday, March 7, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Jim Dundon 39pts

2nd Henry O’Brien 37pts

3rd Peter LeNoury 35pts

4th Capt. Bob Finley 35pts

Near Pins:  John Dearden

Twenty-five players today endured the heat and the proverbial noodle stop groups, with Jim Dundon scoring his personal best 39 points. The consistent one, Henry O’Brien, finished a clear second with 37 points and Peter LeNoury knocked off Capt. Bob on count-back to finish third.

The recent rains have helped the course shape up over the last 2 weeks.

Wednesday, March 9, Khao Kheow A & B – Stableford

1st Nigel Flanagan 40pts

2nd Robin Peach 38pts

3rd Tom Balch 36pts

4th Warren Holland 35pts

Kaptain Klipboard was off on a visa run so John E. took charge for a 28 player comp today.  A short rain delay couldn’t dampen the spirit of “Colts, Colts, Colts” Nigel Flanagan and his 40 point day.  He claims he could have been higher if only a few more putts had dropped.  Cheeky me thinks!

Robin Peach claimed second place with a fine 38 points and Tommy Boy Balch found a short game to come third on 36 points just ahead of Warren Holland who nipped John E. out of the placings on the dreaded count-back.

Friday, March 11, Phoenix Mountain & Lake – Stableford

1st Benn Nelson 36pts

2nd Vic Hestor 35pts

3rd Henry O’Brien 35pts

4th Alan Thomas 35pts

Benn “Bam Bam” Nelson was the only player to shoot his H/cap in a field of twenty-six players and his 36 points was best of the frame.  There was a pile up just a point back and many a count-back required to settle the rest.  Vic Hestor roared in with a back nine 19 points to claim second and Mr. Consistent finished third after nudging out Alan Thomas and Kaptain Klipboard.
