On Friday, March 2nd a group of 19 expat golfers met at Burapha Golf Course to compete in the third annual “Chrusi’s Golfing Lounge Charity Trophy”.

The golf course was in top shape on this sunny day, and the players were in a great mood.  After all, they knew that they were playing for a good cause: to support Jesters Care for Kids charity.

In addition to the proceeds from the entrance fees, money was also raised through penalties for playing into bunkers, water, and requiring more than three putts.  This counted for a total of 46,300 baht during the day.

The overall tournament winner was Georg Bufe with a fine score of 38 points off his 18 handicap.  Dani Grob (H/cap 10) topped the A flight with 35 points ahead of Max Busslinger in second with 31 and Uwe Wegner third on 29.

Thomas Pieper (H/cap 21) won the B flight on 32 points, Christoph Balzli was second on 31 and Mac Vesti placed third with 30.

Near pin winners were Uwe Wegner (2), Andy Wegener and Enno Hupasch (2) while the long drive award went to Jürg Becker.

After sunset, the group met for a spectacular dinner at Ristorante Da Marco on the ‘Darkside’ of Pattaya.  They celebrated the winners and enjoyed talking about golf and life in Thailand until late at night.

There was also an auction and several members donated additional funds to Jesters Care for Kids, bringing the total money raised to 104,700 baht, breaking the 100,000 baht mark for the first time.

All participants agreed, playing golf in Thailand is fun and doing it with like-minded friends is even better, but it pales in comparison to doing it for a good cause.
