Jomtien Golf with the IPGC

Friday, June 10, Eastern star – Stableford

On Monday we left Siam Cats under some heavy drizzle and as we approached Plutaluang the skies in the distance were dismal.  As we turned into the course by the lighthouse the fairways were saturated with water and as we all met up in the clubhouse prior to our 10.00am tee off the rain had eased but we all agreed there was no point playing here today.

Back to Eastern Star on Friday after a three week absence due to renovations to the greens, and the main consensus was that there was an improvement on the front nine but it is still early days here yet; there still needs to be more work done on all of the course over the next few weeks to make it acceptable to the golfers in the region, but for 400 baht a round there were no complaints.

There were two divisions out today and the cut was 1-19 in division 1 and 20+ in division 2.  The best score of the day was 36 points recorded by Lee Casey to win division 2.  Joe Kubon was second on 33 and the organizer third with 30.

Swedish boy Mikael Andersson was the top player in division 1 with 32 points, Harry Riley was second two points behind and Brian Blackford took third with 29.
