Sunday, August 27, Silky Oak – Stableford

1st Stuart Mann (21) 37pts

2nd Steve Coghlan (34) 34pts

Just 6 die hard golfers turned up at Silky Oak to find the course packed.  Only Stuart Mann played anywhere decent on one of the easiest courses in the area and won the day with 37 points ahead of Steve Coghlan.

Monday, August 28, Khao Kheow A & C – Stableford

1st Colin Davis (20) 38pts

2nd Simon Kendal (13) 33pts

We arrived at Khao Kheow to find they had had 4hrs of torrential rain and the course was very wet with the lakes and streams overflowing.  Carts were not allowed on the fairways so ‘lift, clean and cheat’ was the order of the day.

The Donkey & Simon Kendal had a good battle today but the former stayed the course over the inward nine and took the day with 38 points.

Wednesday, August 30, Bangpra – Stableford

1st Colin Davis (21) 36pts

2nd Stuart Mann (22) 33pts

Near Pins: Colin Davis

A small party of 7 players today for a rain soaked Bangpra.  The course was very wet with carts confined to the cart paths only but the greens were in the best condition I have ever seen them, still fast downhill but putting true.

Stuart Mann had a tough time on the front side but a good back-nine to take second place with 33 points.  Out in front once again though was The Donkey who took his second consecutive win with an even par round.

Friday, Sept. 1, Eastern Star – Stableford

1st Colin Davis (19) 30pts

2nd Tore Eliassen (19) 28pts

A change of venue today as Crystal Bay was rained off so we ended up at Eastern Star.  The course was in excellent condition with a bit of run on the fairways.  We elected to play from the white tees at 6575-yards on the card but with most of the tee markers back it played over 6,600-yards.  The greens were quite quick as we soon found out and we all struggled but the results stayed the same.

For the third game in a row The Donkey Simon stole the show, this time with just 30 points on his card but it was still enough to finish two clear of Tore Eliassen in second place.
