Monday, August 7, Bangpra – Stableford

Thirty-three points was the best score of the day on Monday, winning division 2 for Peter Davies while Jan Skovly came in second place with 26 after beating John Doyle on a 13/11 back-nine count back.

There were three 30-pointers in division 1 with Tom Yahnke beating Paul Young on a 17/13 count back, who in turn beat Paul Butler 10/8 on the back six.

There was only one near pin winner in either division, Paul Young and Frank Grainger taking the honours.

Wednesday, August 9, Greenwood – Stableford

We played the B and C nines today with two divisions out with the equal cut at 13-15.8 and 16+.

Frank Grainger, playing off 25, topped division 2 with 36 points and Chris Slota took second after beating Paul Butler on count back, both with 32 points.

Paul Young won division 1 with just 31 points on his card, beating Terry Madsen on a count back while Tom Yahnke was third on 30.

Paul Butler, Chris Slota, Tom Yahnke and Frank Grainger secured the near pin prizes while the sole ‘2’ of the day came from Terry Madsen.

Friday, August 11, Eastern Star – Stableford

After his victory on Monday Peter Davies came in to win division 2 again, this time with an impressive 38 points.  Khalifa Nasser, in his first game for a long time, took second on 32 and Frank Kelly beat the organizer Glyn Evans on a 19/11 count back after they both shot 30 points each.

There were three scores of 32 points at the top in division 1 and on a 16/15/14 back-nine count back Paul Butler took pole position ahead of Shane Tutton in second place and Mikael Andersson third.

There was only one near pin winner in division 1, that being Steve Godfrey on the 3rd but in division 2 Frank Kelly stuck one close on the 3rd and Khalifa Nasser on the 6th and 17th.

Paul Butler chipped in from off the green on the 6th for the only ‘2’ of the day.
