Monday, May 2, Burapha – Stableford

1st Maurice Copan (9) 41pts

2nd Bob Lindborg (25) 38pts

3rd James Brackett (8) 37pts

4th John Cunningham (8) 36pts

5th Martin Kingswood (15) 34pts

Sugar Ray Handford (left) with Wayne Cotterell.

Martin Kingswood rejoined us for a bit of competitive fun to finish in 5th spot with 34 points, beating Kim Danboise on count back.  In 4th place, with his usual consistent form and scoring 36 points, was John Cunningham.  Jimmy Brackett continued his recent good form with 37 points.

Winning the day was Maurice Copan who plays really good golf after adopting a new healthier lifestyle, and it’s really good to see his handicap getting back to the lower single figures with 41 points after a tremendous 25 points on the front nine.

Bob Lindborg has been playing really good recently and he finished 2nd with a great 38 points.  Speaking of Bob, we will be holding his birthday bash with a free buffet and some great novelty prizes on the 18th May, playing in a 2-ball Ambrose/scramble event at Parichat golf course.  Find a partner and come and congratulate Bob on this day and take on Parichat with a friend!

Martin Kingswood, Maurice Copan and Bob Lindbord each scored a ‘2’ today.

Tuesday, May 3, Laem Chabang – Stableford

1st Steve Plant (14) 32pts

2nd Mathias Hermann (10) 29pts

3rd Andy Butterworth (13) 29pts

Only a small field took on the A & B courses at Laem Chabang today, and playing everyone from the challenging blue tees was really a tough call since only one player broke 30.

Mathias Hermann came in 2nd place with 29 points and Steve Plant won the day with 32.  Steve was also the only player to record a ‘2’ on the day.

Wednesday, May 4, Khao Kheow – Stableford

1st George Hensher (33) 34pts

2nd Peter Nixon (9) 33pts

3rd Sugar Ray Handford (20) 30pts

4th Stephen Mann (12) 30pts

Khao Keow remains in good shape with its lakes full of water, plenty of lush greenery around and the course is in stark contrast with Bangpra across the other side of the motorway and the lake.

Playing from the yellow tees, making it a 6,300 yard course, Stephen Mann secured 4th spot with only 30 points, losing on count back to Sugar Ray also on 30.  In 2nd place was Peter Nixon with 33 points and 1st place went to George Hensher with 34.

Peter Nixon scored the only ‘2’.

2nd Keith Allen (20) 38pts

3rd Robert Mattes (23) 35pts

Playing in two divisions today, the scoring was pretty balanced across both flights.  Starting with the 2nd division, Bob Mattes scored a pretty good 35 points to finish in 3rd spot.  Keith Allen, having shed a few kilos with his active cycling regime and playing much better golf, finished 2nd with 38 points and the B division winner was Sugar Ray, having been on the podium for a second time this week.

In the A division, Peter Lenoury ended up in 3rd place with 37 points, JP Maffray scored 39 points to take 2nd place and Cotty continued his good form with 41 points to finish 1st.
