Division 2 leaders Pattaya City threw away three points after they spectacularly lost a two goal advantage by conceding 3 goals in the final 15 minutes of their Bangkok Casuals League game on September 24.  It was a sickening defeat for City, as they had dominated throughout and had many chances to win the game several times over.

This was a fixture that many of the spectators and players had been looking forward to, as it was the visit of Hooters FC from Bangkok.  However, it ended in disappointing fashion as the home side peaked too quickly, whilst the visitors made a strong finish

Pattaya made the front running from the off, with Ross and Megatron Wilmott causing problem to the Hooters back four.  The Hooters keeper must have trying to impress his female supporters as he made a number of tremendous saves early in the game.  The visitors then responded and took the lead through a moment of good fortune.  Crazy Andi, Pattaya’s number 1 was carrying a severe injury, when Christian the Bonehead passed the ball back.  Hooters’ quick number 9 spotted the moment of opportunity and sniped in to score and put the Hooters fans into a frenzy – definitely a sight to behold.

Not to be deterred, City struck back quickly when Chris Wilmott restored order with 2 superb finishes following good teamwork and City went into the break with a deserved 2-1 lead.

The second half started much how the first ended, with City again making all the running and creating many chances.  Andy Emery then struck, proving age has no limit on quality when he sent a bullet header in the top corner to give City a comfortable 3-1 lead with 20 minutes to go.

The next 15 mins proved to be one of the most unbelievable that many people who have been involved in football have seen.  City had three 1 on 1 situations with the Hooters’ keeper, but rather than smashing the ball in the net – the players opted to showboat to the Hooters travelling support, and failed spectacularly.

Hooters then scored a goal of real quality, when a quick 5 man attack caught the City rearguard by surprise and struck to make the score 3-2.  Hooters smelt blood and went on the attack and sensationally scored to equalize.  Pattaya were all at sea and then before they could clear their heads, Hooters went on the attack again and Miller smashed the ball in the net from 25 yards to send the Hooters travelling supports into ecstasy!

It was a hard to take for City, who had been on top for most of the match, but still came second.
