Bangkok Casuals Football League 2013

Pattaya City entertained fourth place Bangkok at home last weekend and it was the visitors who started the stronger, with a couple of headers just going over the Pattaya bar.  City hit back when Vorontsov received a great ball from Hannigan, took it into his stride and saw his shot thunder against the post before being cleared to safety.  Vorontsov was causing problems for Bangkok with his pace, but he was pretty much on his own up front.

City continued to press and only last ditch tackles stopped them from scoring.  Bangkok then had a great chance to go ahead when their forward was left alone in front of the goal, but he miss-kicked the ball with only the City keeper to beat.

Just before the break City’s keeper pulled off a great save to tip the ball over as it was heading for the top corner of the net and his acrobatics kept the score at 0-0 going into half time.

Bangkok started the second half in determined mood and they took the lead when Aiden Hamill prodded the ball home after it rebounded off the Pattaya goalpost.

City tried to get back into the match but it was their own keeper who was kept the busiest and he had to make a couple of desperate saves to keep Pattaya in the game.  It was all to no avail however as Bangkok pressure eventually told they doubled their lead when striker Fede converted to make the score 2-0.

There was just time for City’s Rakotonirina to be given a great chance to pull a goal back but he pulled his shot wide with only the keeper to beat.  The match finished 2-0 to Bangkok, who gained revenge for a defeat to City earlier in the season.
