Twenty-three golfers heading out to Mountain Shadow to take on a course that has become a firm favorite with our group. The weather was on our side with no sign of rain and a bit of a breeze made conditions fine.
Playing from the blue tees it would normally suit our players, but the scores told us differently. The course was in top condition and the greens slow as per the normal and the fairways were in good nick.
It was predicted by this scribe that Stuart Rifkin would win on his next outing, well if you had seen his card at the completion of play you would have thought I did not have a clue what I was talking about. But 33 points got Casa the chocolates! We then had a log-jam for the last 2 positions on the podium and taking second position via the count-back system was Bill Wilkinson ahead of Mashi Kaneta and the unlucky Eric Black.
Division 2 saw ‘The Viper’ Mark Stapleton spring into attack and 34 points saw him home. JC Lhoste took out second and again the count-back system came into play with Colm Mullen getting the nod for third ahead of the unfortunate Gordon Clegg.

Thirty-three starters were committed to today’s outing at a course that we do not get an opportunity to play all that often. We set out to take on the famous Jungle course from the front tees (white) at 6127m and the staff were quite happy to send us off in 2 groups, groups 1 to 4 from the 1st Tee and 5 to 8 from the 10th Tee.
The course was in excellent condition and today’s numbers gave us 3 divisions. A Flight (0-16) saw ‘Buffalo’ Bill Steinmann and Nat Rukkid return the best scores of the day, 36 points each, but it was Bill that got the nod by way of the count-back system. Third went to The Judge only one shot in areas.
B Flight (17-23) went to Alex Field and his score of 34 points put him a solitary shot ahead of second placed Jayson Schembri, with Rudy Regenass taking out third placing via the count-back system over the unlucky Shaun Derby.
Dick Braimbridge won C Flight with 30 points while second past the post was Roy Dayton, with Wan Mukmall taking third spot on the podium
