This course is either very good or a bit ordinary. Today was regarded as the latter as fairways were in good condition but there was much concern about the “rough” rough. The condition of the greens varied a lot also.
Once rolling, things moved at a reasonable pace for our 25 players. In terrific form these past few weeks, Tony Browne kept his cool to rise to the top with a best of the day 38 points in B flight. Alan Walker has been very consistent and once again figured in the placings with a nice 34 points, while Paul Chesney took third spot on 33.
In the A flight, single figure handicapper Peter Wilson took the honours with 36 points on a track that wasn’t easy. Visitor Brian Talbot pushed Peter all the way, only losing on count-back, while Takeshi Hakozaki held down third, scoring a very good 35 points.
The nines for non-winners came from Peter Bailey (front, 18pts) and Stu Thompson (back, 17pts).
