PSC Golf from the Phantom Golf Society
Monday, Feb. 8, Pattana C & A – Medal/Stableford
It was a chilly Monday morning as we assembled at Phantom Bar & Colin’s Bar in readiness for our journey to the classy Pattana Golf Course and there were 29 of us raring to go. We had an excellent run out of Pattaya and no delays to speak of on 331 and we arrived at the course after a 43 minute drive.
The course seemed to be reasonably busy but we got our first group away on C1 five minutes before our scheduled 10.00am tee time. By this time the wind had increased substantially, which was obviously going to make the conditions tough but the golf course was in excellent condition with the greens quite slick but firm & true. The going was good on the first nine but slowed down somewhat on the A nine but most of our groups completed the eighteen holes in around four hours & twenty minutes.

We had 2 Flights with A Flight being for handicaps 0 to 17 and B Flight for golfers with handicaps of 18 and over with four places in each flight. There were also rewards for nearest the pins on the four par threes and longest first putts on the C1 and A1 greens.
There was a clear winner in A Flight with Christian “Psycho” Boysen taking the honours with an excellent 41 points and with 2 golfers on 36 points the resultant count back saw Phil Davies (23 points on second nine) finish second from Peter Kelly (16 points on second nine) in third place. Adam Barton finished in fourth spot with 35 points.
Tiziano Dal Pastro was the winner in B Flight with 33 points and another count back was required to determine second & third places with 2 golfers having scored 31 points. The result of the count back was Anders Soekjaer (16 points on second nine) finishing second from Barry Oats (10 points on second nine) in third place and Marcus Earp taking fourth with 29 points.
