Monday, Sept. 22, Green Valley – Stableford

There were six groups out today and as always we alternated the first tee and we were over the water today.

The best returned score was 40 points in division 2 from Alan Bissell while Chris Reed was second some six points behind and Chris Slota took third on 32.

Jeff Cargill won division 1 with 38 points, one ahead of Wilf Latham in second and Chris Voller finished third with 36.

Near pins went to Wilf Latham, Chris Voller (2), Sid Ottaway and Chris Reed (2).

There were no ‘2’s today.

Wednesday, Sept. 24, Khao Kheow – Stableford

A smaller field than normal out today and with 34 points Chris Reed won division 1 ahead of Chris Slota in second on 33.  We were playing the B and C courses and with just 27 points Alan Bissell topped division 2 standings while Willy van Heetvelde placed second one point behind.

Once again there were no ‘2’s recorded.

Friday, Sept. 26, Eastern Star – Stableford

We approached Eastern Star today in a slight drizzle and our tee-off was delayed 45 minutes while we waited for the rain to cease.  When we did get underway we found the 9th fairway to be saturated so we employed the ‘pick, clean and place’ ruling.  As it transpired most of the holes were fine and relief wasn’t really required.

Frank Kelly came in with 36 points to finish 5th in division 1 while Karl Flood was fourth with 37, losing on count back, so there were not in the reckoning today.  Bill Bertram won the division with 38 points and Alan Hansen beat Chris Voller 14/12 on the back six holes for second after they both scored 19 each on the back nine and 37 overall.

Chris Slota topped division 2 with 36 points ahead of Glyn Evans in second with 35 and Darryl Blair third on 34.

Near pins went to Alan Hansen, Harry Vincenzi, Chris Voller, Glyn Evans and Chris Slota.

Wilf Latham birdied the 13th and Harry Vincenzi the 3rd to split the ‘2’s pot in division 1 while another rollover ensued in division 2.

We said bon voyage today to Bob Poole, Chris Reed and Harry Vincenzi.
