This was just another day when Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford hammered the field. He has had a streak going for about a month but just like everything, the golfing Gods will catch up with him in the end. A few weeks ago he shot a stableford score of 44 points on this same Green Valley course and today managed a very creditable 43 to win B Flight and pick up the man of the match honours.
Henk ter Braak with 40 points and Marcus Earp (39) were hovering near the top and followed Mickey up the podium steps. These two are about the most consistent golfers week in week out and I would not be surprised if either were to win in the coming weeks.
Nothing new to report in A Flight as the usual suspects were prominent once more. ‘Big’ Jim Brackett took the top spot on the podium with a fine 39 points followed by Co. O’Fally gang leader Kevin McEntee a shot in arrears and the man who is always there or there abouts, Ajit Amin a further stroke back.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday the society played the PSC championship.
