IPGC Pattaya Golf Society at The Links Bar

On Monday, 8th February the Pattaya Golf Society took on the challenge of a stableford competition at Treasure Hill, never a course to give golfers an easy ride.  The group was divided into two flights at fifteen and under and contained a few golfers for whom this was a debut round at the “bete noir” of Pattaya golf.

In good condition as always the course was refreshed by a strong breeze all day and scores stayed relatively low.  In the top flight three golfers shared runner up place with 34 points, namely Tony Browne, Dave Nilson and Mark Lang whose round was the best gross of the day, 80 shots.  The winner of a close contest was Andrew Purdie with an impressive 35 points.

In the second flight the returning Canadian golfer Kevin McConnell recorded 34 points for third place with Naill Caven returning 36 points on his final round this trip.  The flight winner was new member Keith Greaves whose first experience of Treasure Hill saw him score 37 points for an excellent debut win.

The ‘2’s pot was shared by Alan Flynn, Masa Takano, Andrew Purdie, Jon Batty, Mike King and Niall Caven.

For the rest of the field there was only the memory of a tough day except Craig Thomas who took the Booby Bevy after his status of “hero” the week before was diluted to “zero” after this round!
