The Thai Farang Initiative (TFi) visited the Welcome Center at the Father Ray Foundation on Thursday the 26th of February to hand over goods to the value of 33,000 baht.
These funds were raised during the recent International Bed Race, where TFi took part in the race (and came last) and received sponsorship from the Booze Lounge, BuzzIn Pattaya, CSP Construction, Defence International Security Services, Pattaya Bungy Jump, Global Property & San Miguel.
Derek Franklin from the Father Ray Foundation and Sean Madden from Murphy’s Law with a child from the center.
In keeping with the ethos of TFi, they contacted Derek Franklin at the Father Ray Foundation and asked what they should go and buy with the money that was raised.
On the day they handed over 10 x 13.5L cooking oil, 9 x 25 kg sugar, 30 x 15kg rice, 18 x 3kg washing powder, 10 x 1 kg salt, washing up liquid, and a variety of sauces.

They were welcomed by the president of the Father Ray Foundation, Father Peter Pattarapong Srivorakul, who thanked TFi and the sponsors for their kind donation and pointed out that with over 700 children to feed on a daily basis, this donation would be put to good use.
Joe Cox, Matt O’Sullivan, Paul Strachan and Rodney Charman from TFi were joined on the day by Dave Durham, Trevor Knightster, Sean Madden and Rainer Heinzmann.

Since the inception of TFi in August 2013, the team has raised over 500,000 baht by hosting a number of fun events. This money has been used for a huge variety of causes, from helping babies born with cleft lips, to working with Rotary on clean water filters, to sports equipment for abused children, and much more.
The team is currently conceptualizing a forthcoming event, the details of which will be announced on their facebook page: www.facebook.com/funcharityevents
Smiles all round from the children.
