Pattaya expats raised nearly a quarter-million baht for the Heart 2000 AIDS charity with a series of year-end fundraising events.

British drag queen Davina Sparkle arrived in mid-November to lend a hand at several events hosted by David Kerridge, including live shows at the Panorama Pub in Boys Town, his birthday bash, World AIDS Day, the Rainbow Party and the Mega Lucky Draw.

Kerridge’s Nov. 24 party saw Sparkle starring in a live cabaret. Panorama was a full house with many friends from Pattaya and abroad on hand to help him celebrate.

The Dec. 1 World’s AIDS Day event was highlighted by a street show featuring entertainers from several Pattaya gay bars. Panorama came back the next day to host the Rainbow Party and then the Mega Lucky Draw on Dec. 3.

Customers who purchased drinks received raffle tickets for cash, bottles of champagne, wines and more. The pub also hosted an auction with donated prizes including smartphones to help raise cash for the charity.

Panorama Pub offered free canapes, provided by the Poseidon Hotel, and funds were collected each night, topping off at 240,000 baht.

The funds were presented to a grateful Dr. Philippe Seur, Heart 2000’s founder.
