Teerayut Mitchalapan, 46, has been in business for 20 years, selling many portraits of the late monarch in his time. With HM the King’s passing, business has picked up considerably, he said, with people buying frames in dark colors to replace the typical gold trimmings, but also new portraits of the late monarch.

While he’s happy to have the extra business, Teerayut said he didn’t want to take advantage of those grieving and therefore decided to offer replacement fames and new images at low prices, with some starting at just 100 baht.

He said this is a sad time for all Thai people and it is not important that his business profit during this time, so he helped those mourning as a tribute to the late HM the King.
