Both students took their exams in the summer but have only just found out about their remarkable achievements. Uh Sang Ahn, who has been at Regent’s for 12 years got a total of 8A* and 2As in his IGSEs, and is doing International Baccalaureate (IB) higher level physics, maths and chemistry. He says that he is considering a career in engineering. Jisu Chae meanwhile has a passion for science and is thinking about working in genetics or biochemistry.
A very proud Head of Mathematics John Mill with star student’s Jisu Chae and Sang Ahn.
John Mill, head of mathematics at Regent’s is delighted with the results. “Both students are inspirational,” he says. “I couldn’t quite believe it when I saw that Jisu Chae had the best score in the world - I had to check it about 3 times to be sure! They both deserve it because they are great students who work really hard. They are a real credit both to themselves and to the school.”
Both students will be awarded certificates marking their achievements at a special ceremony later this year.
