Rayong English Program School welcomed Stuart Baker for a two-day seminar on Food Hygiene, May 10-11, in the REPS Meeting Room.
Fourteen people, mostly teacher assistants and canteen staff, participated in the seminar in preparation for the opening of the self-running canteen on 18th of this month. Bussaba, the school administrative manager, said that it is essential for each participant to be trained on receiving appropriate management and directions in food hygiene to enable them to prepare food safely in school and at home.

Topics like types/sources of bacteria, personal hygiene, common symptoms of food-borne illness, preventing cross contamination, and hygienic food handling are a few of the subjects that the participants truly enjoyed learning, enhanced by games and ice-breakers.
The assessment towards the end proved to be an exciting yet challenging part for them as well.
At the end of the day, they all had one common thing to say, “Sanuk mak kha!”
“Food hygiene is not just training. It is about making it your culture.”
