Naval unit awards 88,500 baht in scholarships

The Royal Thai Navy’s 1st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment handed out 88,500 baht in scholarships to children of civil servants.

Capt. Sompong Phuwieng, commander of the Air and Coastal Defense Command unit, presided over the Jan. 8 ceremony in Ban Chang.

He presented 22 scholarships for kindergarten students worth 1,500 baht each; 17 scholarships for Prathom youths worth 1,500 baht each; and 15 scholarships for those at the Mattayom level worth 2,000 baht each.

Sompong said the scholarships rewarded children whose parents work for the government who maintained good grades and behavior.
