Father Ray Foundation announces Children’s Day 2011

Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh attended a press conference at the Redemptorist Center recently, along with Father Peter Srivorakul, acting president of the Father Ray Foundation and Danai Saengsijan, area manager - Government Housing Bank to discuss the forthcoming National Children’s Day activities in Pattaya.

The second Saturday in January is celebrated annually throughout the Kingdom of Thailand as Children’s Day, and to celebrate this day on Saturday 8th January staff members from Government Housing Bank, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, will provide the children of Pattaya with a day to remember.

In association with the Father Ray Foundation a day of fun activities will take place at the Father Ray Children’s Home located in Nongprue near the Elephant Village.

The day’s events will commence at 7:00 when the children will present alms to local Buddhist monks.

This will be followed at 8.30 by fun activities in which the children will be encouraged to participate.

Miss Thailand World 2009 Pongchanok Kanklab, who also happens to be a black belt Taekwondo fighter, will be giving a demonstration of her skills as well as teaching the children how to take care of themselves.

Popular stars of TV, former Miss Motorshow 2008 and actress Gaemboom will appear alongside her male counterpart from Channel 7, Sugus, who will meet and have their photographs taken with the children as well as sign autographs for their many fans.

Children and residents from the Father Ray Children’s Village and the Father Ray Outreach Work & Drop-In Center will also attend this event. Invitations to join this day have been sent to the children at Baan Jing Jai, Pattaya School for the Deaf, Hand to Hand, Fountain of Life and the Pattaya Orphanage.
