Seventy Pattaya-area residents joined the ranks of massage therapists after winning certification from the Union of Thai Traditional Medicine Society.

Natcha Kaokrajang, director of Natcha Spa and Beauty Vocational Center, presented the certificates for completion of the Thai traditional massage course May 30 at New Sea View Resort and Spa.

The 150-hour course ran March 1-April 17 and provides new career hope for the unemployed, those in low-paying jobs or people recently released from prison. The course was provided free to those who qualified.

Furthermore, the center taught how to produce processed herb products so the new therapists could earn extra money.
