BANGKOK, 13 September 2011  -Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra today received commemorative flags on Mahidol Day from medical students of Siriraj Hospital who aim to collect funds in aid of underprivileged people.

Upon receiving the flag before her participation in the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Government House, Prime Minister Yingluck also donated money for the Mahidol Day fund set up to commemorate the late Prince Father, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla, who had contributed to the development of medical education in Thailand and devoted to the well-being of the poor. The date of the Prince’s death, on 24 September, has been designated by the Thai government as Mahidol Day.

In addition, the Prime Minister also purchased special edition postcards and stamps featuring His Majesty the King in a Royal Thai Air Force costume marking the seventh cycle birthday anniversary of His Majesty. On this occasion the Prime Minister wrote down her wish for His Majesty, while other government officials and members of the media also followed suit.

Regarding the list of military reshuffle, Ms. Yingluck insisted that she had not yet seen the list as she had just returned from Indonesia.
