The commercial building next to Walking Street’s Insomnia disco suffered minor damage when fire broke out on its roof.

Smoke was pouring out of the Insomnia-owned iSalon on the ground floor when three fire trucks arrived midday April 6. Workers had tried to battle the fire with extinguishers, but gave up. Firefighters needed 25 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which began under the roof.

Insomnia manager Nanmetha Phosim, 38, said the fire broke out as workers were moving an air-conditioning compressor. No one was injured.
