Universities asked to reschedule school period

BANGKOK, 14 September 2012 – The Minister of Education has asked all universities to adjust their school opening period to be in accord with other universities in ASEAN region.

Dr. Suchart Thada-Thamrongvech, Minister of Education, revealed that he has asked for cooperation from all universities regarding school terms in order to ready the Thai educational system for the ASEAN community that is to come in 2015.

In order for high school students to have enough preparation time for colleges and also for the colleges themselves not to rush for student acceptance, the ministry is asking all colleges and universities to start their first semester during August-September, effective from 2014 onwards.
