Deputy governor, Suthinan Boonmee, presided over the opening ceremony on Saturday afternoon, which saw a large number of residents and tourists witnessing the grandeur of the event.
The event has been held by Udon Thani province with the cooperation of the Department of Civil Aviation. More than 30 planes from local and foreign aviation business operators as well as bike enthusiasts have been invited to participate in the festival.
Besides an Air show, there are a number of other activities in the festival for visitors to enjoy, including paragliding, skydiving, model plane, and big bike shows, as well as a beauty contest dubbed 'Miss Airshow.'
According to Suthinan, the event is aimed at unveiling Udonthani's enormous potential to be a regional aviation center as well as a logistic hub in the northeast region. He believes Udonthani will, from now on, see high growth in terms of business and investment.
