Two soldiers wounded in Pattani grenade attack

PATTANI, Nov 18 -Two soldiers were wounded in a school bombing attack in this restive southern province on Monday.

The two men were on duty providing security for Baan Jake School in Sai Buri district when two assailants arrived at the school on a motorcycle and one of the men threw a hand grenade at them.

The wounded military personnel were identified as defence volunteers Ibraheng Purong and Sarawut Songbut. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, three bombings were reported in Thepa district of Songkhla province. The first bomb exploded at a mobile phone signal post, while the second and the third one, planted some ten metres away from each other, were triggered about ten minutes later, hurting no one.

Security personnel defused a fourth bomb and no one was wounded in the incidents.
