Turkey to use Pattaya as model for developing accessible facilities for disabled

The Association of People with Disabilities in Turkey plan to use Pattaya as a model city for developing accessible facilities and tourist attractions.

Association Chairman Tulgay Hasar met with Deputy Mayor Wutisak Rermkitkarn, Social Development Director Pannee Limcharoen, Tourism Authority of Thailand representative Onwara Korapin and Samrit Chaphirom of the Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities Oct. 9.

In the meeting, Hasar said Pattaya not only is famous as a tourist town but for its management and development of equal opportunities for the disabled. He praised the number of accessible facilities in tourist attractions, accommodations and government buildings.

Hasar said he was in Pattaya to seek advice and examples from administrators that he can present to officials back home to craft budgets and plans for accessible projects.

Wutisak said he was delighted and overwhelmed by Hasar’s praise for Pattaya and that the city was willing to give its best advice and cooperation to the association.
