Mr. Chadchart justified his claim by pointing out that Thailand has not yet had the necessary public transportation infrastructure in place. He further elaborated that if the law was actually implemented, numerous commuters would surely be affected.
It would be best, he said, if the public transportation infrastructure were better developed first - especially buses and trains. By that time, the Minister said that he would welcome the mentioned proposal to be reviewed again.
The Transport Minister stated, “The most important aspect is to consider the consequences”. The policy proposed, he said, should be thought through carefully in terms of the advantages and disadvantages. Once implemented, it would greatly affect the masses.
