Foreign tourists visiting Pattaya generally enjoy the city, but see room for improvement in areas concerning traffic, stray dogs.

Pawel Chrusciel, 50, arrived from Poland with eight bicyclist friends. They’ve cycled more than 10,000 kilometers in 10 days.

“Pattaya is a beautiful and nice city, which is why we decided to take our vacation here before continuing our journey,” he said. “But I think it would be much better if there were more bicycle paths.”

Chinese tourist Wu You, 19, had heard about Pattaya before, but wasn’t prepared for the traffic.

“It took me quite a bit of time to get across the road,” Wu said. “But that was not a big problem. I will introduce my friends in China to Pattaya and definitely will come back again.”

Daria Bredew, a 28-year-old German volunteer with the Redemptorist School for People with Disabilities, has been living in Pattaya for seven months. She had seen most attractions around the city and thinks it’s both beautiful and exciting.

“My concern is there are too many stray dogs. I found it is very difficult to walk past them,” she said. “Also, I often miss streets because some have no sign.”
