BANGKOK, 28 November 2013 Thai nationals who are looking to renew their passports have been advised to do so at the temporary Passport Offices in Bangna and Pinklao.

Following the closure of the Department of Consular Affairs on Chaengwattana Road by demonstrators, Foreign Affairs Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul advised those wishing to renew or apply for a passport to go to the Temporary Passport Offices located in Bangna and Pinklao. According to him, the Department of Consular Affairs on Chaengwattana Road is temporarily closed as the electricity has been shut down by the demonstrators who are gathering at the Government Complex.

As for those who are scheduled to pick up their passports, the minister said they would still have to go to the Department of Consular Affairs on Chaengwattana Road.

Minister Surapong also called for the demonstrators to respect the rights of others, adding that the protesters have every right to express themselves as long as they do it in a peaceful manner, and cause no trouble to other people.
