Mr Surapong said the Thai Foreign Ministry issued a statement denouncing the use of chemical weapons in Syria, saying it has resulted in a large number of dead and injured in the country.
"Such acts constitute a blatant violation of international norms and [are] a crime against humanity," the statement said.
"Thailand therefore condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the use of chemical weapons in Syria. The international community must ensure that those who are responsible for such heinous crimes must be held accountable and brought to justice," the ministry said in its statement.
Mr Surapong repeated his earlier statement that Thailand would wait and see what action the US will take against Syria.
Thailand would comply with any resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on the matter, he stated.
