BANGKOK, 9 December 2013 Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban has said anti-government demonstrations will go on despite the dissolution of parliament.

Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban, who has been battling to oust Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, said the goal had yet to be reached, adding that dissolving of parliament was not what the demonstrators aimed for.

He said the rally goers did not want to see a new general election held, but instead, they wanted to see the “people’s council” run this country.

Miss Yingluck earlier announced her decision to dissolve parliament and promised to hold a general election as soon as possble.

The demonstrators led by former Democrat MPs are now marching through Bangkok toward the Government House.
