The storm in the lower South China Sea, with maximum sustained winds of about 85 km/hr, was slowly moving to the west-southwest.
The storm will weaken and move to the Malaysian coast from today through Wednesday.
A rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf of Thailand. Waves 2-3 metres high remain in the lower Gulf from Songkhla south. All ships in the areas should proceed with caution and small boats should stay ashore during 1-2 days.
Meanwhile, a nearly active high pressure area still covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea causing cool to cold weather in general.
The minimum temperatures of 16 degrees Celsius are occurring in much of the upper North and the upper Northeast.
