To tackle cyber crimes, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has signed an agreement with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) to raise the level of online security.
A research will be carried out to find the most effective ways to prevent such crimes. The results will be used in the policy decision-making process to determine the best way to keep the crime under control.
In addition, ICT Minister Anudit Nakornthap said the government has sought cooperation from the private sector as well as the international community to establish online protection and exchange information on cyber threats among one another.
Education on internet crimes will also be promoted to raise awareness of the types of online crime and how to avoid falling prey to cyber criminals. The NRCT and the ICT will be working hand in hand in terms of research and consultation. The results are expected to be achieved in 4 years' time.
