Pattaya heeded the complaints of residents and business owners, finally repairing a pockmarked, collapsing section of South Road.
A private contractor hired by the city filled in holes and resurfaced about 300 meters of the busy thoroughfare between Friendship Supermarket and the Tukcom electronics mall that had all but collapsed, with multiple holes, sunken pavement and other subsidence problems.
Signs were erected warning motorists to stay off the repaired surface for two days and it was then reopened to use.
The rocky roadway had made for risky conditions, especially for motorbike drivers. Locals even erected a “be careful driving” sign, but even that has had to be moved due to pavement problems.
Now, if only they would repair the rest of that road, all the way up to the 3rd Road intersection.
Contractors were put to work repairing a stretch of South Pattaya Road between Friendship Supermarket and Tuk Com.
