BANGKOK, July 14 -- Six one-stop service centres in Bangkok, designed to facilitate migrant worker registration, will open tomorrow until August 14, according to Sumet Mahosot, Director-General of the Labour Ministry’s Employment Department.

Each of the six centres will be staffed by 10 officials following the order of the National Council for Peace and Order which came to power on May 22.

Mr Sumet said he expected that at least 1,000 migrant workers would register at each centre during the entire period, enabling them to work legally and receive benefits like Thai workers.

Expressing satisfaction, Mr Sumet said about  60,000 migrant workers  have already registered  at eight one-stop service centres nationwide.

The one-stop service office operates daily.
