BANGKOK, 21 September 2012 - After many areas in Bangkok have been flooded as a result of continuous rain in the past few days, the Bangkok Governor has instructed officials to unclog sewers to allow better water flow.
Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra yesterday visited Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road to inspect the flood problem. He instructed BMA's officials to urgently remove garbage, the cause of the flood, from sewers. Flooding in around 30 spots across Bangkok caused huge traffic jam on Thursday evening.
The governor stated that when faced with continuous heavy rain, it takes time to drain the water from streets and local roads. He apologized to the people for the inconvenience.
