Director General Department of Trade Negotiations Srirat Rastapana revealed during the “Service Business: Strategies for AEC and Beyond" seminar, that Thailand needed to set a specific direction for service businesses in order to prepare for the integration of AEC. The seminar was aimed at enhancing 4 service business groups, including tourism, information technology, construction, and logistic segments.
Ms. Srirat further stated that the service business segment has been increasingly becoming essential to the Thai economy. She, therefore, believes Thailand should have concrete measures in improving its service business segment.
She said she would take the information gathered at the seminar and present it to the government for further revision in order to prepare and enhance Thai business operators for the advent of the AEC.
