Sailor reunited on Children’s Day with boy he saved

An 8-year-old boy who might not have lived to enjoy this year’s Children’s Day spent the day celebrating with the Sattahip sailor who saved his life.

Chakrit “Nong Plu” Sarapol was brought by grandfather Talerngkiet Sarapol, 52, to see Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class Patcharapol Pimsorn Jan. 9.

In November, the sailor had found the young boy lying badly injured in the middle of the road and rushed him to the hospital in time to save his life. Photos of the rescue went viral on the Internet.

Patcharapol was delighted to see Nong Plu and gave him a teddy bear, navy pouch and a robot toy.

He also encouraged the boy to focus on his education so that he will one day become an important and respected person. He added Chakrit should help others when he can and always be honest so that his future will be bright and prosperous.
