Sailor returns lost wallet to South Korean golfer

A Royal Thai Navy sailor earned the gratitude of a South Korean golfer when he returned the tourist’s wallet left in a Sattahip restroom.

Jung Tae Huohin, 19, thanked Chief Petty Officer Somrat Kijdee, 44, at Sattahip Police Station Dec. 1 for return of the wallet, which contained 5,600 baht and identification cards.

The Air and Coastal Defense Command sailor said he found the wallet in a restroom the Tesco-Lotus department store and immediately called police. Police notified the South Korean embassy, which contacted Jung, a student on holiday in the kingdom.

Jung said he was impressed and touched by the honesty shown and he will spread the word back home about the kindness he received.
