Revered monk’s birthday celebrated with blood drive

The Pattaya Metta Prachakit Club commemorated the 75th birthday of Buddhist monk Panya Punyayo with a blood drive at his Photisampan Temple in Naklua.

Doctors and nurses from the Queen Sawang Wattana Hospital in Sriracha volunteered to draw blood at the April 29 event attended by Buddhist devotees and friends of the monk. The blood will be donated to banks around the country.

The club also invited monks from various temples to attend and offered them lunch. Attendees took advantage of a buffet of Chinese dishes and enjoyed Indian-style dances in front of Priest Nalantha’s monument.
