Residents of Jomtien Beach’s Reflection condominium development have a beef with the management over a supposedly private access road being opened to the public.

Sanpope Bonnak, president of the Property Management Association of Thailand, chaired an owners meeting at the condo July 26 where their grievances were aired.

Decha Lertwilasak, an owner representing an unknown number of condo owners, said the road running through the development was advertised as private and for use by residents only. Now, however, property management firm Major Development Property has allowed tourists and the general public to use the road.

Executives from Major were not available for comment.

Decha said owners of the 6-30 million baht condos fear theft and property damage from trespassers wandering through their property.

He said contracts and brochures clearly indicate the road was not public and feels owners have legal grounds to sue if the issue is not resolved.
