Pongniwat Yuthapanboriparn, Criminal Litigation Department director general, said seven charges have been filed against the four, identified as Santiphap Pengduang, Suthipong Pimpisarn, Chavalit Woonchoom and Tivakorn Kuathong.
The charges were collaborative robbery by using weapons and vehicles, premeditated murder and attempted concealment of their offences, forcing a person to act against his will which resulted in death, attempting to hide, move or destroy the man’s dead body, carrying arms and ammunition in public, and illegally possessing arms and ammunition.
The parents of Mr Santiphap, one of the suspects, were charged with buying stolen goods.
The public prosecutor objected to bail requests for the suspects, said Mr Pongniwat, adding that the indictment only involved murder and theft.
Police have not submitted any evidence related to murder but the Criminal Court could be asked to reconsider the case if additional murder-related evidence was found, he said.
