PM’s Office holds a singing contest to celebrate HM the King 87th birthday anniversary

BANGKOK, 24 Nov 2014,  The Prime Minister’s Office yesterday held a singing contest, commemorating His Majesty the King’s 87th birthday anniversary.

The contest was presided over by Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, M.L. Panadda Disakul, who revealed that the event was organized as part of the Father’s Day celebration, to be held on December 5th, adding that the contest also served as a means to express loyalty to the King, a true genius in music.

Participants included children from 5 orphanages: Youth House–Maharaj Foundation, Rajvithi Home for Girls, Pak Kred Home for Boys, Thunyaphon Place for Girls, and Mahamek Home for Boys.

Participants sang selected all-time popular songs composed by His Majesty the King such as ‘Falling Rain’, ‘H.M. Blues’, ‘Love at Sundown’, and ‘The impossible dream’. The winning teams were awarded scholarships and certificates.

All participants were also invited to write well wishes messages to HM the King, and treated to a free meal.
