Pattaya upgrading telephone system

Pattaya is upgrading the city’s telecommunications system by moving to Internet-based telephone infrastructure it says will provide better and faster service to callers to the 1337 Call Center line.

City Manager Wuttipol Charoenpol hosted a presentation from Master Make Call Co., the city’s main telecommunications provider, on the upgrade to the Internet Protocol-based Grandstream equipment.

Demonstrations were given on how to check for recent calls, put calls on hold, transfer calls and how to create a conference call.

The new system claims to improve automated, voice-activated functions to speed access to different operators or departments.

Master Make Call executives said that will be of particular benefit to the 1337 line, which currently connects to 305 different lines in various city departments.
