Pattaya Technical College has signed an agreement with 23 companies to help train students in new careers.

Deputy Mayor Wutisak Rermkitkarn oversaw the signing of the pact between the school and private-sector firms Feb. 11.

The businesses will work in tandem with not only Pattaya Technical College, but Chonburi Vocational College, Chonburi College of Agriculture and Technology and Phanat Nikhom Vocational College.

Pattaya Technical College has signed an agreement with 23 companies to help train students in new careers.

The agreement comes as Thailand struggles to keep up with international neighbors in training enough qualified technical professionals.

Wutisak said private companies can help in offering technical students more experience and skills development.

The mayor also presented awards to businesses in Pattaya, Laem Chabang, Sattahip and Sriracha who have worked with the college in the past.
